We bought our first canyon cooler in 2019. Since then it has held up to many elk, deer, antelope, beer, river trips, etc. it’s a superior product to any of the other overpriced name brands with an amazing warranty. Just not having some issues with the latches in 2026 lol! Canyon purchaser for lyfeeeee.

The cooler is amazing, although the latches sometimes pop open on their own.

Wish it had more options to get accessories for this one

Thanks for the good review and thoughtful feedback. We do have dividers, multi level baskets, seat cushions, foam pads, and a divider basket. We also have locks available. I will lookinto making that more visible on the product page. Otherwise you can find some here: https://canyoncoolers.com/collections/accessories

I ordered the Prospector 125 cooler expecting a premium product, but the quality did not meet expectations. The cooler arrived with visible cosmetic defects, which was disappointing given the price point. The defects made the cooler look poorly finished and raised concerns about quality control.
While the cooler design and size are appealing on paper, the condition it arrived in took away from the overall experience. For a product marketed as durable and high quality, cosmetic issues like these should not pass inspection before shipping.
I cannot fully evaluate long-term performance because the cooler issue was never properly resolved, but based on initial quality alone, this was not the premium experience I expected.

It's December so I'm a few months out from using my prospector 125. But after receiving it I'm very happy with the quality. I'm 6' 220lbs and I stood on it and jumped… super strong. I plan on buying another for my next raft.

It is better than other high end coolers I have used, and it cost less. Every part of this cooler is well thought out. I cant wait to get it on the river.

This is my second Canyon Cooler. The first one, a 65qt is so well built I decided to buy a larger one for hauling meat to Florida, after hunting in Alabama. The 65 holds ice okay but not great, but it gets the job done. I have not tried the ice challenge with the 125qt Prospector yet, so all I can grade is the appearance and build quality. The green one comes with a light tan lid which looks very good in the two tone design. The build seems to be solid, but comes at a cost. It is heavy and will require two people to move around when loaded. I did add the basket which is very solid and fits like a glove. Overall, I will continue to buy Canyon coolers over all the other Roto-molded coolers on the market. They are a great company and I hope as they grow they continue to operate as they currently do.

Having had the Prospector 103 for years, the Prospector 125 is all the quality I have come to expect from Canyon Coolers. The latches are definitely improved the original design. The strap and drain plug locations continue to be well thought out. The baskets are great. I could have gone with the 150 in my 16' raft, but ultimately I liked the versatility the 125 offered for size and weight beyond rafting trips, and there is still plenty of room in there for multiday trips. The 103 will continue to live on with my 13' raft setup as well. It's still going strong. Looking forward to more adventures with both of these coolers.

It is my first cooler that wasn't a coleman, engel, or gott and they don't even compare in capability. The Prospector 125 is in a class of its own and far superior at keeping items cold!

Bought this for a 5-day August float on the Salmon River. Reasons this was worth every penny
1. design is perfect for my 14ft Rocky Mountain raft with NRS frame. It is molded to set on the cross bars and hang inside the raft without touching the floor.
2. The seal is incredible. It's hard to open the lid sometimes it's so tight.
3. Holds ice! After 5 days I still had full cubes for making cocktails.

Prospector 125 Quart Cooler-All New!

For many years, my main multi-day cooler had been the Gott 123. However, over the years, it had lost the ice retention quality it once had, and Gott was no longer manufacturing coolers.

I researched high-quality, durable coolers with excellent ice retention, read reviews, and landed on Canyon Coolers (CC). I wanted a size that was close to my Gott 123. The best option at Canyon Cooler for me at the time was the Prospector 103 - a Navigator 150 was going to be too big for my 14' raft, and I needed a cooler that would work for both my 14' and 16'.

The 103 is a great and strong cooler, and it held ice for 19 days on a March-April Grand Canyon trip, but it was a little undersized for my needs compared to what I used to squeeze out of the Gott 123, but I made it work. I was hoping CC would release a size between the 103 and Navigator 150, as this would be the ideal size for me. It would fit both boats and provide the extra capacity I lacked in the 103.

Recently, CC added the Prospector 125 to their inventory, so I jumped at the chance to get one. After discussing with CC, it appeared that 125 wouldn't be ready until August. I had ordered it in July, but the cooler arrived a few days later. Kudos for the quick shipping!

Upon unpacking, I immediately noticed some improvements over the 103. The 125 has better latches compared to the 103. The latches are wider, stronger, and shorter, which allows for easier lifting when the cooler sits on a frame crossbar. The 125 is longer and wider than the 103, too. I had to make some adjustments to my oar frame so it can sit between the cross bars, but it fits well with my setup for a 14' raft.

The drain plugs have also been improved. The new drain plugs are larger and have a lever piece molded on that makes the plug easier to turn.

The rope handles are also better than those on the 103. There is a bigger grip, and metal buckles hold them on instead of knots.

The other thing I noticed on the 125 is that the top of the lid does not have the checkered mold that is prominent on the 103. Putting on Sea Deck will be much easier compared to the 103, where I had to cut several pieces to match the mold.

Of course, the 125 has other standard features on their coolers, such as multiple lashing points where a strap can be fed through slots that hold them in place when attaching to a frame, and not have to worry about slippage when the water gets exciting.

Getting the 125 is my fourth purchase from CC. I have the 45, 65, 103, and now the 125. I don't want to come off sounding like a fan-boy, but I got the various sizes for different needs, and CC has the durability and ice retention that I was expecting for a cooler. Overall, I am highly pleased with the 125, so thanks, CC, for finally producing it!

Now, I need to get on a trip to test out the 125 (hint, hint, invite me, please!)
