"Fits like a glove" Sotar 12'8"
This cooler works too well!!! I followed all the recommendations for keeping things cool. I pre cooled the prospector with ice and water the night before loading, and had the cooler filled with half “ice” (frozen meals for day 6 of an 8-day river trip) and half freshies. The cooler was so cold that it froze all our freshies, some of the beers, and a fresh half gallon of milk. We had to remove items from the cooler to thaw. I was impressed, and now I know just how well this cooler insulates!! I did have the insulated pad on top as a rowing seat, so that likely helped keep things frozen for days. These coolers work!!

Also love the raft-specific rail overhang. Super nice. Great quality. Only issue are the latches. You can't just quickly drop or close the lid without the latches catching under lid.

This cooler is the exact size we need to keep perishable food in while camping. It will be heavy once loaded but nothing 2 people can’t handle. We love the Diamond color and also have a V2 22qt and Pro 45 in the same version. Could not be happier with our purchase. All of the positive reviews for Canyon Cooler products are well deserved and the lifetime warranty is a huge plus. Great company and we look forward to adding to our collection down the road.

My 2nd 85. Bought my first last year. Decided I needed 2. This cooler will easily handle a quartered deer or a deboned elk of average size with plenty of room for ice. Ice retention is outstanding. This is now my go to for high performance coolers.
It appears to be very well built and I expect it will last a lifetime. The lip to strap directly to the frame is pure genius. Dual drain plugs also very nice feature. My only complaint is, this thing weighs a LOT more than I was expecting.

The initial unit I received had some flaws, some of which led me to believe it might've been a recycled return unit. Still not sure on that count. Most importantly, the side drain slowly leaked ice melt, which can be a long-term performance issue and can be a problem with dampness for other items where the cooler is stored/transported. Oh, I bought one of the baskets and it didn't fit neatly into the cooler - had to force it down into place. Overall, probably the unit was part of that small percentage of manufacturing error.
Ultimately, the cooler was replaced and the process was made very easy. The new unit arrived looking brand new, does not leak, and the basket drops right in. It will probably be next summer before I can give it a true test of ice retention, but I did fill it partially with water and left it in the garage for a week. No leaking whatsoever, so I have confidence.
I find it a nice looking cooler and the sheer volume could be a game-changer. I'll be honest, though: I tired of waiting for the 65 to become available and broke down to buy the 85 model. It's extremely bulky and heavy and I would probably have been better off to wait for the 65. But on the other hand, the additional ice capacity will probably someday make me glad of my choice.
I consider Canyon's customer service approach to be excellent and, well, a rare exception in today's marketplace. Thank you for making things right and I look forward to putting this thing through its paces in 2026…

We love our new Canyon PRO 85 Quart Cooler! Great quality, very sturdy and held ice easy for 48 hours in 90+ degree weather! Not sure why there are two drain plugs but that does not bother us. We are excited to use this cooler for years to come!
I've been using my Canyon PRO 85 Quart Cooler for a few weeks now and I'm thoroughly impressed. The build quality is solid, it keeps ice for days, and the price point is a steal. Great value for the quality you get. Highly recommend for camping trips, beach days, or just backyard BBQs.
I bought the Pro 85 to haul groceries and overflow to/from our river cabin. I am able to put large cuts of meat and containers inside without an issue. It's held ice for 4-5 days this summer with no problem. I'm very happy and will probably buy a smaller model as well!

Well this one is bitter sweet. I had to sell my canyon cooler 125qt outfitter after I made a few mods to my vehicle that made the 125 .25 inch to large. But thankfully I only had ti lose a few it's and have this beautiful 85qt pro that fits perfect.

I have almost every canyon cooler now that I've picked up the Pro 85. They continue to outperform my expectations even as I push their intended uses. We take the prospector 103 and now the pro 85 down the MF salmon every year and have no issues for 8 days. At home, we routinely use these coolers to keep food hot while traveling to bbqs and family events hours away. Keep up the great work Canyon.
I used the pro 85 on a deer hunt in southern Arizona and it held ice for my entire week long hunt. I'm super impressed with the build quality and love the look of the Canyon coolers. Can't wait to take it to Mexico and fill it with some Yellowtail. I'll only be buying Canyon from here on out
So far so good. This is my third canyon cooler. They have all been amazing. Maintain temp longer than expected. Design is sleek, durable, easy to use, and effective. Love the squared out inner. Size to weight ratio is great and doesn't give up any thermal qualities as a result.
Did my research. Waited for sold out product to become available. This cooler is an absolute tank. No regrets.
Excellent fit on our Hyside Outfitter 12. Can't beat a Canyon! Cooler seat height is a bit tall, but not complaining. The easily removable handles are helpful. Only conflict for us is our rocket boxes block the latches, but they're easily moved when needed. Can't wait for river season and getting this out on trips. Currently it kept us well hydrated for Halloween!
