Ice retention is why I purchased this cooler. I have had blocks in the cooler 8 days and still have solid blocks. Like the way the cooler sits on the bars and has places to tie to the frame without going over the lid. Super easy to open without unstrapping everything.
Only used once on my 3 day river expedition, but so far I love it.
The handles are great and make it easy to carry and really like that you can drain from the side as well as the end.
Glad my friend recommended this. Way better than yetti and less expensive.

Good product for an even better price. Will be purchasing a larger one soon.
Replaced this as my front seat on my raft. With the new seat cushion with cupholders on top, the cooler performed great on a 5 day trip down the Lower Salmon. Only issue I had was that the cooler sat low in the frame and it was hard to get the cooler latches opened and closed. I will have to pay Canyon some more to get the lift kit to get the cooler up higher on my frame to avoid this.

As a raft guide, it felt extraordinarily pleasing to purchase one of these coolers, slightly adjust my frame, drop it into place, and find out it has lips that wrap around the frame bars. Like. A. Glove. Put some straps around that bad larry and you're ready for the tub! Stoked on my purchase. I wish it was a little more affordable, but it's near impossible to find this kind of cooler technology for cheaper. Super stoked!
I had already owned 3 Canyon coolers, so when I bought a bigger whitewater raft and needed to outfit it for multi-day trips, of course I looked to Canyon. I did compare other brands, but when comparing features, quality and price, the Canyon Prospector 103 one out. Canyon was out of stock on the "Lift Kits" that I needed to raise my cooler up off the frame. I used some 1/2" mini-cell foam and Willhold contact cement to make my own lift kit. I would be nice if the cooler was designed so that it doesn't need the lift kit, just move the bottom lip down 1/2" !
Love the coolers; it's my second one, and I will be buying another one next month. Great quality and zero complaints. I plan on buying a few more over the next year.

This is my 2nd Prospector 103, I simply included the last one with the sale of a raft package. I've been extremely happy with the Canyon Coolers I have, and the Prospector is a great cooler designed for river rafters (it will hang on your raft frame by the upper lip, the bottom is curved so that it maintains that space above your curving raft floor). This time I added a splash of color - campfire red!
Great quality and price
My partner absolutely loved this and was stunned by its durability, heft, and quality. He can't wait to use it on hunting trips. Great size for us. May be a bit big for everyday use but certainly seems needed for broken down game.
